Candle Care
the ritual of burning well
A quiet guide to caring for your candle—simple steps to ensure a clean, even, and lasting burn.
When cared for well, the flame becomes part of the space it lives in.
Before you light
preparing the burn
Trim the wick to ¼ inch before each use.
Place the candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface.
Keep away from drafts, pets, and children.
The first burn
setting the foundation
The first burn helps set how your candle will perform over time.
Allow the wax to melt across most of the surface before extinguishing.
This encourages a clean, even burn with each use.
As the candle continues, the wax may not always reach the edges of the glass—this is a natural characteristic of coconut wax and will even out over time.
Allow approximately 3-4 hours.
While burning
maintaining the flame
Burn for no more than 4 hours at a time
Keep the wick centered and upright as the wax softens
If the flame becomes too high, extinguish, trim the wick, and relight once cooled.
Extinguishing
a gentle close
Extinguish using a snuffer, or carefully dip the wick and re-center it.
This helps reduce smoke and preserves the integrity of the wick.
After each burn
preserving the experience
Allow the candle to cool completely before moving or relighting.
Trim the wick before the next burn to maintain a clean, steady flame.
Each Simply Bare candle is made to be lived with—slowly, intentionally, and in rhythm with your space.
